Background: Katina Tarask, 25, is what you call a career pilot. She and her long-time wingman Russel Bagman flew fighter planes for the ESUN (or the Federation in her original canon), then upgraded to mass-produced Gespenst Mark IIs and other mobile units as circumstances brought her together with the crew of the Hiryuu Custom, and later the larger Steel Dragon Battle Group. She was never a great hero herself, lacked major influence or rivalries or anything else of that nature, but she was perfectly happy to serve in the company of heroes, usually doing something crazy to put a dent in the enemy that more superpowered individuals could then exploit.
She also made a name for herself as a sort of ad hoc test pilot, usually by immediately volunteering to "try out" any new and shiny mech, regardless of whether it had a designated pilot or not. She and Russel were most recently assigned as test pilots to help develop the latest customizations of the venerable-but-never-mainstream-in-this-universe Gespenst Mark II, this time as part of the Unity Group.
Personality: The first thing that EXTREME IMPATIENCE.

The first thing most people notice about Katina is her extreme impatience. She is an extraordinarily high-energy person who charges into any situation, combat or otherwise, headfirst and guns blazing (metaphorically or not). Frankly, she'd probably have been dead a long time ago if not for Russel's moderating influence, although she has throttled back somewhat since her earliest days of piloting; she still prefers a frontal attack, but she understands her limits a bit better. However, the impatience also extends to other people she works with or meets on a daily basis, which gives Katina a staggeringly short temper and a tendency to spout threats of extreme violence. She only means the latter when directed at an enemy, though. She's never actually murdered someone and used their blood to custom-paint a robot. Probably.
Katina spends most of her time either being aggressive and take-charge, such as when she needs to get something done or wants something done for her, or laid-back and joking. She's a hard taskmaster for both herself and her squad (which to be fair includes both the famously passive Russel and the infamously lazy Tasuku Shinguji), but when the pressure isn't on, she knows when to sit back and enjoy a cold beer or six-pack of energy drinks. She's a professional soldier that way...although not much of a professional soldier other ways. Aside from her short temper and tendency to explode in front of superiors, she's also a more than reasonably crass person and has no qualms about calling anyone out on his or her shortcomings, rank be damned; in some ways, she's a lot more like your stereotypical infantry sergeant than the image people expect of a commissioned pilot.
Despite her constant mix of friendly needling and serious disciplinary orders, Katina greatly values her friends, and gets along with people well. She's stuck with Russel through about three or four wars now, and shows the same level of...well, not so much respect as commitment and camaraderie with her other squadmates. Even if her quick temper and general rashness might make her seem flighty or violent at times, deep down she's a loyal and committed person. Also violent.
Capabilities and Resources: She commands Octo Squad, which currently consists of herself, one bland guy, and a pair of tricked out mook robots. It's something, anyway.

Unit Notes: Katina pilots another one of the three Gespenst Mark II Kai prototypes mentioned in Russel Bagman's app. Since it's the same as Russel's (except red, obviously), it uses the same frame system for swappable weapon loadouts.
Unit Name: Gespenst MKII Kai Type G
Unit Description: Katina's preferred frame for the Mark II Kai is the melee specialist, descended from the punch-and-beam-happy Gespenst-M. It sports a plasma buckler, two plasma stakes (for double Jet Magnum action), and a chest-mounted mega blaster cannon, along with increased maneuverability for not dying. It can also carry normal Gespenst-sized hand weapons, and comes with a repair module.

Unit Description: The Type N frame is the balanced loadout. It carries Split Missile multi-rockets, a Plasma Stake, a folding cannon, and a beam saber. It's otherwise very similar to the G frame, including space for add-on weapons and a repair module.
Unit Name: Gespenst MKII Kai Type C
Unit Description: The Type C frame is the artillery frame, with double triple-barreled machine guns, missiles, and a twin beam cannon in addition to hard points for additional weapons and a repair unit. Unlike the other two frames, though, it lacks a Tesla Drive and can't fly.
Upgrades: Will totally gank any sweet prototypes that another character no longer has a need for and can be used by normal pilots. It's kind of her thing.
Wingmen: Since Russel is in the game, no one I'd want to NPC.
Mission requirement: Nope.
Suggested Event List: I will let OG characters who actually have plots add missions here. Katina's just along for the ride.
